Some pretty specks caught this weekend. Looks like it’s going to be a good season! D.O.A. 4″ Shad Tail in pearl were the ticket, attached to a 3/8 ounce D.O.A. Premium jig head. Some nice rock around too. Best striper fishing right now is only an hour drive from the bay bridge. Makes a nice day trip for those who don’t wish to travel all the way to Crisfield. Back to Home Waters
27 05 2017After a whirlwind tour of the Susquehanna Flats and then the Virginia Eastern Shore I am finally back fishing my home waters of Tangier Sound. It’s great to be home. My first day back was fly fishing only and we had excellent numbers of schoolie stripers along with a handful of specks. I’m looking forward to a great season fishing out of Crisfield, as well as Cambridge on the Choptank River. Book your trip now so you don’t miss out. kjosenhans@aol.com 443-783-3271

MSSA Dorchester Meeting
16 02 2017Come on out tonight to the Dorchester MSSA meeting at the Cambridge Elks Lodge to hear me speak on winter Pocomoke River fishing and Tangier Sound specks and reds. I know this is late notice but I’ve been battling a bout of laryngitis due to a cold, so I wasn’t 100% sure I could pull this off. But all is well – or well enough – so if you’d like to learn a little about tackle and technique for the Pocomoke River and Tangier Sound come on out. The meeting begins at 7:00 with my presentation around 7:30. See you there.

Gold on the Pocomoke
13 02 2017Some terrific action on the Pocomoke River of late. Jumbo yellow perch, crappie and monster pickerel are slamming small jig-and-minnow combinations. We struck gold yesterday with some of the biggest, fattest yellows of the season. Monster pickerel were hanging with the perch. Still a couple of open dates to get that February $50 discount. Good fishing should continue through March. White perch on the Nanticoke is just around the corner where we had fish to 14″ last spring and catches in triple digits was the norm. #BuiltForTheWild @YETIcoolers #seewhatsoutthere @CostaSunglasses #YamahaOutboards
