2015 Striper Season Ends With A Bang!

21 12 2015

We had a fantastic finish to the 2015 striped bass season with periods of unseasonably warm weather, above average water temperatures and some great light tackle, shallow water fishing well into December. While there were some large fish to be had jigging plastics and metal out near the shipping channel the majority of my clients opted for the quiet confines of the Smith Island creeks and shorelines. Light spinning and fly gear provided steady action on rockfish averaging 18 to 26 inches. A super way to spend the extra days of warm fall weather we were given. I’m now setting my sights towards catching crappie, pickerel, yellow perch and bass on the beautiful, dark waters of the Pocomoke River. I will be running four and six hour trips from Byrd Park in the historic eastern shore town of Snow Hill, MD. Call or email me to schedule a pleasant mid-winter trip on this scenic tidal river. Capt.
